My company is American company so a fiscal year starts from September 1st. On this day, many important accouncments are made by company executives, the announcements for organization changes, leadership changes and results of promotion.
Working as a Consultant, the second level from below of career path , I was a candidate for manager promotion. Because of bad economic situation that has plagued my company, this year's promotion has been said to be the toughest for candidates for any level of promotion. So I was quite restless until I got an official notification that I got promoted to a manager from my career counselor just two weeks ago. Actually, those who could have been promoted to had been confied to people who had been evaluated as outstanding but some consultants who were evaluated as outstanding were not allowed to be promoted to higher level.
To be honest, I thought that promotion didn't matter to me. But finding that some of my colleagues couldn't make manager promotion and got hurt, I've been realized that I cannot say "the promotion doesn't matter to me". I must keep in mind the responsibility those who got promoted must accept.
Then, I would like to extend heartful thank you to everybody who supproted and is supporting me either directly or indirectly. If it had not been for you, I could not have been promoted.
